Students will be instructed on the skill of using the economy method of painting by limiting the brushstrokes in a painting. ( 50-40) The key is two things….use a small canvas 6x6 size and a large brush!! Students will have multiple exercises in using big brushes and mark making, limiting their color palette to only 4 colors and painting from life (small little fresh flower arrangements will be provided for students to paint from) . This is a great way to practice the intentions behind brushstrokes while also giving attention to line, shape, value and color….bringing a stronger piece of art to life. If you struggle with over working your paintings to the point of mud or are one that wants to loosen up and free yourself from the ideas of perfection then this is your class!!
